WZD London - The Christmas Crawl

Posted by superba

Type: Crawl of the Dead (Booze involved),
Website: facebook.com

Location: Marble Arch, London, UK

Whether you made it to World Zombie Day London on October 26th or not, here is a chance to join in the fun all over again - in a festive fashion!

From the team behind the hugely successful World Zombie Day London, comes WZD London - the Christmas Crawl!

Not a worldwide venture this time (that we know of) but rather an encore to the event in October, we meet at Marble Arch again and go from there. Not sure if we’ll take the same route - we’re open to suggestions in that respect at the moment.

This one will be less ‘official’, more relaxed, with no pesky signing in sheets and no raffle. There will however, be a few small prizes for ‘best costume’ because…

...it’s Christmas themed! Just put the word “zombie” in front of anything Christmassy that you can think of.

zombie Santa

zombie Mrs Clause

zombie Snowman (PLEASE someone do this one!)

zombie Elf

zombie fairy

zombie christmas shopper (department store bags full of body parts…?)

etc!

This theme is only suggested and not compulsory - normal zombs are, as always, welcome!

Once again we will be encouraging donations to the homeless charity St Mungo’s.

Look how far we have come already! You should all be so very proud of yourselves :D

But yes, the donation page doesn’t close until mid February, and what with the cold weather upon us it wouldn’t hurt to spare a thought and some more spare change for such an amazing and hard working charity.

More updates soon…

Howdy everyone, hope the winter is treating you kindly thus far?

This is just a quick mailout to keep you up to date with things at the WZD London camp. The two main things you may be interested in, are that we finally sent off our paperwork to Zombie HQ in Pittsburgh; including all of your signatures from October 26th, plus a copy of Bizarre magazine which we featured in (http://www.flickr.com/photos/superba_/3052431677/ – check it out of you haven’t already!).
When/if we hear from HQ regarding our part in the Guinness World Record, we will of course pass the news on.

Secondly, don’t forget that we are having another crawl this coming Saturday! (http://www.facebook.com/home.php/event.php?eid=92265850452). We meet at Marble Arch at midday, like last time. So that’s Saturday December 6, Marble Arch, midday. We are going to get up to our rotting necks in christmas shoppers before heading north – and there will be more pub stops this time.
There is also a theme, if you fancy it: Christmas zombies! But it isn’t compulsory and everyone is welcome to come along. It’ll be interesting to see the zombie winter wardrobe actually, seeing as it’s so bloody cold out at the moment…

We’ll be urging you to donate on the Justgiving page again, as it is still active (http://www.justgiving.com/worldzombiedaylondon), and at winter more than perhaps any other time, it’s important to think about the work that the St Mungo’s charity does for people who are homeless. PLEASE give generously and make us even more proud than we are already!

That’s about it for this time. Expect another update at some point this week about Saturday’s crawl, including but not limited to: a map of the rough route (we plan to end up in Camden – zombies on the tube!) and a reminder of the zombie hotline number, etc.

So until then take care, and yell if you have any questions/suggestions smile
