Thrill the World

My name is Ann-Marie Hammond of Aaliyah Belly Dance & Drumming, some of the local schools and colleges are already familiar with me as I attend their school each year to teach Belly Dancing and or Drumming.

Every year, Thrill the World hosts a global event, inviting the world to dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller at the same time. Thrill the World is a worldwide simultaneous dance; with everyone performing the same choreography. Anyone around the world can join in and this year Aaliyah Belly Dance & Drumming will be managing a North West Coast of Tasmania Thrill the World event. Would your group/students like to participate in this exciting Global FUN event?

In 2010 Thrill the world.com are trying to get into the World Book of Guiness Records by having the largest amount of people performing Thriller at one time.

There will be two event times this year which means that all parts of the world will have Thrill times between 11am and Midnight. Most Thrill the World times would be on Saturday 23 October and only some parts of the world would have a second Thrill time on Sunday. Previous years meant that some people were dancing at 2am and other silly times to be involved. This year our time zone is 10pm (Melbourne time) Saturday 23 October and if need be we could do it again Sunday 24 October at 10am (Melbourne time). Once i have worked out the time difference I will let you know our definite time for our zone. Perhaps if there are children that want to do it too we could have the earlier Sunday morning time for their involvement and keep the Saturday evening time for the teenagers and adults. However, anyone that does the Saturday evening would be more than welcome to do it again with the children the following morning.

We would like to turn this FUN event into a FUNdraiser to raise money for CANTEEN. I am currently waiting for the Official registration paperwork from Thrill the World. Once I have that paperwork i will then be able to give a copy to CANTEEN, then fill in their registration paperwork and be able to legally use both of their logos to promote this event.

However, in the meantime I am more than happy to get started running workshops to teach the dance to your group/students. I am not trying to make money teaching these workshops so will not charge for my time; however, if i have to travel further afield to teach then i would expect people to share the cost of my petrol to get there and back. If you do wish to pay for my time to teach please make this in the form of a donation towards our charity CANTEEN. Once I have all the official paperwork in place I will then have a sponsor/donation webpage available on the CANTEEN website.
