The Return of the Living Bub?

In an interview with horror website Bloody Disgusting, Romero expresses an interest to include the infamous Bub in his next zombie film.

The director hinted that if the "business stuff" of Bub's appearance could be sorted out, he would in all likelihood be making a comeback: "...if i could get the permission.... there's a character in my new script which could be become Bub, in other words, he would be alive now. But they'd probably want a lot of money for that.

The immediate reaction to this news is two-fold:

How wrong is it that the man we all consider the "zombie godfather" would have to pay someone else, in order to be able to use Bub in his new movie?!
and
Re-read that quote again. ...in other words, he would be alive now, does this mean we would see Bub as a human? And if so, do we see him pre-zombie, or has a cure perhaps been found and he is the test subject for this?
